The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) created model templates to respond to the market’s need for a reliable and equitable template, providing a set of clear and concise standard contractual conditions that is fair and equitable for buyers and sellers of goods. The document is a rich compilation of best practices contract clauses on trade agreements designed as a time-saving tool for international sale of goods.

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Model International Sales Contract is a time-saving tool for traders, importers, exporters, business owners, bankers, salespersons and lawyers involved in important import-export and sales transactions.
As a businessperson, importer, and exporter you must ensure that your sales contract is correct and favors you to effectively negotiate abroad. As a salesperson, it is a must for you to know the difference between a regular sales contract and an international sales contract to facilitate smooth cross-border trade and back-to-back sales. As a lawyer, it is a must for you to familiarize yourselves with these contracts – from pre-signing and post-signing procedures – to help mitigate risks and to protect and defend your clients from later issues.
